Welcome to the Interest Groups page

Please remember that to sign up for any of our interest groups you must be a member of Medway U3A and provide your Membership Number when making contact

Medway U3A, like other U3As, is a “peer-to-peer” learning network, which draws upon the knowledge, experience and skills of its own members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership.

Could you start a new Group?

We are always interested to receive new ideas for groups and would like to hear from anyone wishing to get a new group established. If you have an interest or an idea for a new group, but are unsure how to start, you can get assistance from our Groups Coordinator

How to join a Group

From the Group Page of the group you wish to join send a message to the Group Organiser. You can also you can contact the Groups Coordinator at a monthly meeting. If you are using the link from the Group Page to send your message, please state which Group you are interested in as many Group Organisers lead more than one Group.

Please Note: Members are responsible for informing the Group Organiser of any health or physical limitations which may affect their ability to attend or undertake any of the group's activities.

Popular Groups

In some cases, groups are so popular that they are over-subscribed. If you wish to join such a group please place your name on a waiting list by sending a message the Group Organiser or to the Groups' Co-ordinator from that Group's page.

For quick reference on the Group links below the status is shown as Active, Full or Dormant.

When there is a sufficient number of people on the waiting list, a new group can be formed, providing a Leader, or Organiser, can be found. Proposed new Groups are shown highlighted in yellow.

Unable to attend a Meeting?

As a matter of courtesy, if you are unable to attend a meeting, please let the Group Organiser know.

Likewise if you decide a group isn’t for you, please tell the Group Organiser.

LIBRARIES: We have a great relationship with our local libraries and appreciate all that they do to support us. Libraries are working to expand the range of activities and resources available to local residents and are trying to find what other services they could offer to residents aged 50 and over. They already do a lot but they have asked for any ideas we may have. If you do have any, please send them to the Community Librarian
